Install hosts without prompts
Install Billet Host silently from a script, a software deployment tool or a remote shell, with one enrollment token per machine.
- For
- Administrators
- Applies to
- Billet 1.0

Billet Host's installer takes every answer on its command line, so it can run with no window at all.
The command
Run it as an administrator, or as SYSTEM from your deployment tool:
Billet-Host-1.0.0-windows-x64-setup.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART `
/PORTAL=https://portal.example.com `
/TOKEN=<this machine's enrollment token> `
/LOG="C:\Windows\Temp\billet-host-setup.log"
| Option | Needed | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
/PORTAL= |
On a machine that is not enrolled yet | Your portal's address, starting with https://. |
/TOKEN= |
On a machine that is not enrolled yet | A host enrollment token. Each one works once, so every machine needs its own. |
/ADVERTISE= |
No | The address people's computers dial for a direct connection to this machine, for example its public address in front of NAT. Billet adds the port. See Direct and relayed connections. |
/VERYSILENT |
For no window | Inno Setup's standard switch: no wizard and no progress window. |
/SUPPRESSMSGBOXES |
Recommended | Answers any message box with its default instead of waiting. |
/LOG= |
Recommended | Writes Setup's log to a file, which is where a refused token is explained. |
Values cannot contain spaces or quotes. 0.0.0.0 is refused for /ADVERTISE=, because it is an address to listen on, not one a computer can dial.
Exit code
0 means it installed. Anything else means it did not; the log says why. If enrollment failed, the machine is left as it was.
Making a token per machine
Each token enrolls one machine and expires after a short time. For a batch, register the desktops first and make a token for each from its page, or make them from Deployment, Enrollment, Create an enrollment token. See Register a desktop and create an enrollment token.
The portal also has an administration API that can make tokens from a script, using an API token made under Deployment, API tokens.
Upgrading
Run the newer installer with /VERYSILENT and no /PORTAL= or /TOKEN=. A machine that is already enrolled keeps its credential and is upgraded in place. See Upgrade or remove a host.
